DENNIS KLEIN in LI Business News, January 2015. As the economy slowly improves, many small businesses – after operating at very lean staffing levels for several years – are finding they need to add to payroll to keep up with increasing workloads.
“Many of our clients are in hiring mode,” said Dennis Klein, who heads entrepreneurial services at Melville accounting firm Nussbaum Yates Berg Klein & Wolpow. Klein noted an uptick in hiring in the second half of 2014 among companies across many sectors, including service, construction, real estate, distribution and wholesale.
“The market thinned out in the recession, and the small businesses that survived are stronger and looking to grow,” he said, noting the credit market is easing, with banks “anxious to invest in good small businesses.”
